The soil is cleared from dead leaves and plants from the previous year. The dead plants remind us of what was and what is possible for this new year. Will the new plants grow like their predecessors or will they exceed expectations and grow more robust?
The day is young as the young boy and helps his dad prepare the field. The farmer is full of hope that this year’s crop will help provide for his family and others in the community. There is so much resting on this one little tiny seed.
Instead of overwhelming it and telling the seed of its full potential the farmer and his son give it daily encouragement to grow. Soon the tiny seed develops into a big enough plant to fulfill its destiny. Along with the other plants that surround the seed they help nourish many.
It is through daily encouragement and attention that one day we can help support many in our community.
