Three Trees

This past weekend I went for a hike with my family at Chatfield State Park here in Denver, CO. Okay, I have to confess…it was more of a walk since we stayed on the sidewalk path. Most of the lake area is still muddy or wet.

We took our dog with us on the walk as well. It was great to get out and see the park not so busy before spring starts to bloom. In the coming weeks, the park will start to become busier and busier.

While meandering down the path, I took a photo of three pine trees. Once I got home, I decided that would be the picture that I would try to sketch in my journal. Drawing the trees was fun. I started out using a pencil but then decided to just go with it and draw in with pen. Then later I added color to the drawing.
