On our trip to San Diego Zoo this year my children were lucky enough to release the birds when the zoo firsts opens. Of course, like any mom I took a video of the releasing of the birds.
Deciding that I want to practice sketching more, I decided to etch the memory of the birds flying away into my sketchbook.
I have to say, it is quite fun to draw memories of a vacation after the fact because it makes you feel like you are really there again.
I used watercolor and pen to recreate this memory.
